Honolua Bay

What to expect: Amazing coral heads and a huge variety of reef fish. Honolua bay is a marine reserve and the marine life is thriving.
When to go: Summer months and part of the fall and spring are the only time to snorkel here.
Directions: Head north on Honoapiilani Hwy past Kapalua. After the coconut caboose continue on the windy road until you drop down into a very lush area and cross over a one lane bridge. Immediatley after the bridge, parking will be on the left. Walk along the stream for about 1/2 mile till you reach the bay.

Airport Beach

What to expect: Easy beach entry to snorkel. Varieties of reef fish and the occasional spotted eagle ray. All levels of snorkeling here.
When to go: All months of the year.
Directions: Located between Kaanapali Pkwy and Lower Honoapiilani Rd. You will turn to the ocean side off of Honoapiilanai Hwy. onto Kai Ala Dr. Drive past the resort enterances until you see an open parking lot and the beach pavillions. Parking is free in this lot.

Black Rock Beach

What to expect: Easy beach entry to snorkel. Varieties of reef fish and often turtles. All levels of snorkeling on the main side of the rock. More experienced swimmers can go around the rock to the cove. At times there can be swell surges here and in the afternoon higher winds and surface currents.
When to go: All months of the year.
Directions: From Honoapiilani Hwy. Turn onto Kaanapali Pkwy. Beach access parking is spread along Kaanapali Pkwy, but is limited. There is parking in Whalers Village and parking voutures are provided by most shops and restaurants.

Mala Warf

What to expect: Easy beach entry, but very shallow swim out above sharper reef. Mild experinece for this spot. Varieties of reef fish, turtles and occationally reef sharks. Dive along the submerged pier pilings.
When to go: Winter is best, or when surf is low during spring, fall and summer.
Directions: From front street head towards the signs saying Mala Warf. After you turn at the sign, stay right onto Mala Warf Rd. parking is at the end of the street.
