Molokini Adventures

The Molokini Crater, a small crescent shaped “island” located off the southwestern coast of Maui in the ‘Alalākeiki Channel, was formed after a volcanic eruption occurred hundreds of thousands of years ago. (230,000 years ago, to be exact) Once used for bombing practice by the US Military, today, it is a popular snorkeling and diving destination, offering a habitat to the creatures under the sea and a fascinating peek into their lives. The best way to experience a snorkeling adventure is with a tour, and companies like Redline Rafting or the Pride of Maui offer a variety of such tours, bringing guests out to the crater and ensuring that everyone snorkels safely and has the time of their lives. Offering 2-hour and 5-hour snorkeling trips (the 5-hour also includes snorkeling along the coastline), this watery adventure is one that you will cherish forever. Most tours provide the snorkeling gear needed, but be sure to read the fine print to make sure the one you choose does.

ʻĪao Valley State Monument

Maui really is a tropical paradise, and the ʻĪao Valley and the ʻĪao Valley State Monument are perfect examples of what you can expect from a day trip on Maui. Located in Wailuku. just about a half hour away from your vacation accommodations, there are many hiking trails leading visitors through a lush and verdant landscape, including a short walk to the ʻIao Needle (aka Kuka‘emoku) a rock formation created by erosion and referred to as the phallic stone of Kanaloa, the Hawaiian god of the ocean. Also formed by volcanic activity many millennia ago, your visit to Maui may be incomplete if you didn’t manage to snap at least one picture of this popular natural attraction.

The Road to Hana

Readers of a different generation may remember a series of “Road to” movies that starred Crosby, Hope, and Lamour, and although the Road to Hana will be filled with adventure during your Maui visit, the adventures will all be ones that have you oohing and ahhing and eagerly awaiting the next turn in the road to reveal something new. This is a 64-plus-mile-long road, offering over 600 curves as it winds its way to the town of Hana, a historic village that has long been considered one of our island’s final frontiers. This journey will take the entire day if you do it right and along the way you can expect to see natural wonders that include waterfalls, black sand beaches, lava tubes, and of course tropical foliage, local wildlife, and so much more. The town of Paia, located at mile marker 0, offers art, food, and a peek into the past, as time seems to stand still in this quiet place, and as you continue your drive you will pass a series of food stands selling everything from fruit to Hawaiian bread, so be sure to carry cash and schedule some stops into your drive!

Pineapple Farm Tour in Hali’imaile

Hawaii is world famous for its sweet pineapples, and of course you will want to take a Pineapple Farm Tour during one of your day trips from Maui. Hali’imaile is located about 30 miles away from your Maui Life Realty retreat, and the tour lasts approximately 1.5 hours, offering an in-depth look into what it would be like to work on an authentic pineapple farm. You will learn about cultivation and growing processes and explore the history of Maui Gold Pineapples, ending the tour with the receipt of one golden pineapple, packaged according to TSA regulations so you can carry it home with you! And we promise, every bite will taste like memories of your Hawaiian adventures, bringing you joy and happiness.
